YTI's next CPD event will take place on Saturday 3 October 2015 at York YHA, 42 Water End, Clifton, York. We will be hosting Ed Zanders of Pharmaguide, who will present his course on Chemistry for Translators.
Ed Zanders runs one-day courses for business professionals and translators/interpreters. His course on Chemistry for Translators provides a background to chemistry for those who have no specific training in the subject but who encounter it in their translation work. For his Cambridge-based courses he charges £150 per head, but we are able to provide this course for £50 per head for YTI members and £25 for student YTI members (£55 for ITI members, £65 for members of neither and £30 for student non-YTI members). Numbers will be limited to 30, so ensuring that attenders have adequate opportunity to ask questions and participate fully in the event.
Just as scientific and technical translators find themselves having to translate legal documents from time to time, translators of many other types of text may sometimes find themselves battling with chemical concepts, particularly in the medical field but also many others. This event should therefore be of interest to members whatever their specialist fields. More information can be found on the attached flyer for last year's Cambridge course.
The programme will be as follows:

9.20-13.00: Morning session, with tea/coffee break (included)

14.00-16.30: Afternoon session, with tea/coffee break (included)
